Well... not much to update. Got my rear tire on order, still waiting on that. It's gonna be huge. I went to a local MC dealer and looked in their junk
tire bin (when they were closed of course ha ha) and only found a 180. It was MASSIVE, can't imagine a 200. I do know a 200 is the biggest I would EVER
go for a chopper. I am not a huge fan of wide rear tires and such, but this ought to fit the bike.
I have just about decided on a west coast choppers 2 ton ho rear fender. It's made for a 180 or 200 tire and I like the looks. It will probably need a little modification, but who knows. This bike is coming together much faster than the last one, but I still have a long ways to go. I still need to find a competent welder around here to weld. I got a lead at work about a guy that builds choppers. Supposedly his welds "look as smooth as glass" and strong as hell. Apparently he builds chops too and only lives about 30 miles away. Damn, looks like I have to interact with people ha ha. I am sort of a hermit or something, I am nice and such but am just not a social butterfly ha ha.
I am currently trying to get an ARD magneto, would be sweet on the chop and give to the vintage performance feel of the bike.
I am also buying a hondamatic engine from kiki and am paying for it this Friday. That's awesome, now I can put it in my current chopper and have it running again. I was getting pretty worried, being this close to riding weather without a working chop. It's almost February, I figure there is another month or two before it's time to ride. I hope I get my chop done before too long.
